At the end of August, one Friday morning
I board a ship bound for Hydra. Two hours later, in the courtyard of his mental hideout ‘Poems’, the artist and curator Dimitrios Antonitsis guides me through the world of Hydra School Projects. We are seated on what looks like a dining table but is in fact a sculpture crafted by Antonitsis himself after a design that was originally intended for the bankrupt Palace of Otto and Amalia of Greece. Our backs are solidly manned by Euzones cast in an alloy of titanium and aluminum, and just like that we set course for an uncharted universe of aesthetics, starting from the oldest Merchant Marine Academy in the world...

Τέλη Αυγούστου, ένα πρωί Παρασκευής μπαίνω στο πλοίο με προορισμό την Ύδρα. Δυο ώρες αργότερα, στην αυλή του πνευματικού του κρυσφύγετου «Poems», ο καλλιτέχνης και επιμελητής Δημήτρης Αντωνίτσης με ξεναγεί στο κόσμο του Hydra School Projects. Καθόμαστε σε μια τραπεζαρία-γλυπτό δια χειρός Αντωνίτση, αντίγραφο των επίπλων που είχαν επιλεχθεί για το παλάτι του Όθωνα και της Αμαλίας που τελικά χρεοκόπησε. Η πλάτη μας στηρίζεται στιβαρά από Εύζωνες χυτευμένους σε κράμμα τιτανίου και αλουμινίου, και κάπως έτσι τραβάμε πλώρη για ένα αχαρτογράφητο σύμπαν αισθητικής με αφετηρία την αρχαιότερη σχολή Εμποροπλοιάρχων στο κόσμο...
